Metal suppliers in SW MI

Allright, y'all helped me before with salvage yards. Now I'm wondering about metal suppliers...

I'll be needing a .250 or .375 plate for my flat belly on the CJ. Are their any good used scrap metal kinda yards that may be worth checking? And what are some descently priced local metal plate suppliers around Kzoo/GR?

You can try Padnos, a lot of the time they hang onto large pieces of material for resale instead of melting it down. I haven't yet used this route but I have heard of a few people finding what they needed there. The other thing you could try is calling around to Fab/machine shops to see if they have any leftover material from a job. I have had good luck with this and usually end up paying about 50% of what the material is actually worth.

Contractors Steel has a location in Wyoming, MI that services Grand Rapids. Thier prices are similar to Alro (mentioned above) but are worth a try.

For those of you who work there or have recent knowledge, any idea what kind of cost I'll be looking at for a 3ft X 3ft(ish) plate of 3/8ths?
