Electric VS. Hydrolic

what do yo0u guys think when it comes to getting a winch for a cherokee, Hydrolic or electric?

Electric.

If I was building an exploration vehicle, I'd do hydro with electric motor backup to drive another pump.

And please don't be one of those people that buys the cheapest winch on the market. Yes they spool in, but you will die of old age unless the rest of the group kills you or drags you up the hill with someone elses winch first.

Electric, in the rare event your engine pukes it will still work till the battery dies.

PTO is my personal favorite. As many winch speeds as you have trans gears. When it starts to come free, put it in fourth, hit the gas and come out like a Yo-Yo :tonka:

I'd go hydro, as I love mine. But I do want a electric over hydro as a backup. Yea sometimes mine is slow MM 10.5k, but it's reliable as hell.

i have heard that hydrolic winches wont over heat is that the case?
