Default Help with building ramps for trailer

I have a trailer with shitty and heavy ramps made out I beams. I want to have some new made for me. I'm just trying to figure out what length/angle they should be so I can put in the order. How should I go about figuring this out?

Granholm has made trailering illegal. No need to worry about this anymore.

well how far off the ground is the trail and what are you planning to put on the trailer? Need just a few more detailes about what you are trying to do. YOu know I could have said well let see oh make about three feet long you will be fine and then you try to put a car on the trailer and it gets hungup on something on the bottom. With a jeep you don't need any ramps.

I was going to build ramps for my trailer. Then I found out that the trailer store down the road from me sells 6ft steel ramps for 150 a pair. I figured price of material my time, it was just as cheap to buy a pair from the trailer store.

I'll get the height of the trailer when I get home. For the jeep it doesn't matter that much, but just in case I need to trailer a car, I would like to be able to.

With my trailer you need ramps, even with a jeep, unless you're running 60" tires :)

You may be right, but 6' may be too short for this trailer. Besides I have a friend that can make these for me for free and his material is free as well, I'll just buy him some booze.

OK if it's in of 9" to 12" you will need about a 5-6 ft ramp. higher the longer the ramps need to be up to about 7-8 foot area.should be the longest you would ever need. Unlees you are using it for LOWRIDERS...LOL Then you need a trailer designed for them that has a tilt bed and ramps .

At least they'll be straight, not C curved, with no place to put them.

Only if you use a vehicle that runs on gasoline or diesel to pull it. Feel free to pull your trailer down the road by Bicycle or by hand.

I was kind of hoping to be able to hook it up to a public transportation vehicle, a bus would work great. Otherwise I'll just tie the horses to it.

No need to take your heep anywhere. Not allowed to use offroad vehicles.

My trailer is a bit over a foot off the ground and I currently have 8' ramps for it. I've hauled saturns, corvette's, fullsize trucks, and jeeps on my trailer and they are awesome for getting dead or low clearance vehicles onto the trailer. I've loaded my jeep plenty of times without them however when the front end breaks and only one tire gets power it makes it more difficult, I'm currently building a set of 5' ramps for it so I can use them when nessecary, have a easy place to store them and also they are a lot lighter. My current 8' ramps are around 80-90lbs a piece.

It's obvious you did not read about the off-road parks (silver lake sand dunes) closure:
