Default Leaf Springs

I was thinking about doing the shackle flip in the rear and just cutting a hold where the shackle is right now. then running it through the bottom and then just reinforcing it. Some one said it would be about 6 of lift. So then would i need to buy 6" leaf spring for the front then???

What kind of vehicle are you talking about? I see your screen name, but I assume this isn't for a Chevy since you didn't post it in Chevy Tech.
