Thumbs up Photos of Windrock Trip

Trail Leader on trail 8 Saturday morning

Trail 8 Saturday

Carson(my son) and Annie (navigator) doing lunch at the top of trail 16 on Saturday

Trail 24, this is a 1/2 mile climb up to the top of the ridge. It had been raing for 9 straight hours the night before. The trail is loose rock about the size of soft balls/footballs but the trail turned into the main stream of the creek that runs beside it down the mountain

Trail 24

Trail 24

Trail 16 on Friday. This is just below the falls. This section of trail narrows and becomes rockier and runs up a section of a creek. The Falls is our lunch spot on Friday. I'll try to get a photo of the falls up soon.

Trail 16 Friday

Trail 16 Friday

Trail 16 Friday. This is about 10 min. into trail 16. The choise is to go right or left at the top of this section. I went left, and you can see the trail is a little worse on my side. The guy in the red shirt is a professional photographer. We were on the trails and ran across ATV's throughout the weekend. All were well mannered and patient with the group of jeeps. There were many streches of trail the atv's could not pass becasue the trails are so narrow.

It's not a bad trip, shoot down I-75 to exit 122 in Tennessee just about 15 miles north of Knoxville. Shoot west about 15-20 miles and you are there. There is camping about 2 miles from the park, 5 miles or so to Oak Ridge.
Oka ridge has a lot of resturants and hotels and they cater to the OHV crowd.
