Are the Canyons rack and pinnion? If not then use your box and find the right pitman arm.

i've never seen any colorado/canyons modified in such a way. get pics of your progress as i'm interested to see how this goes. as for the steering concern, your probably going to have to use a chevy steering box, idk how much room you have or how the linkage will have to be run, but you could set everything up for a crossover setup as it's much better then the push-pull setup GM used from the factory.

Read what he wrote............"i got my mind set to sas my canyon but im stuck on what kind of stering box should i use just a plane 70s chevy box. what is most common on s10 sas? anything will help" My post advised him of what we use on S10 SFA conversions, as he requested. What exactly are you referring to? Are you suggesting he leaves the r&p steering? that would be interesting!

i wouldnt worry about the steering box right away. I would get the axle and suspension built and then work on the steering. it might not work out in the build what looked like it would on paper.

Originally I was gonna use a 79 f150 gear box on my s-10 swap. Cause it mounts on the outside of the frame and the pitman arm faces forward.
