Default Another bog CLOSED

Now they have shut down Rizzos bog in Melvin Mi. Stating that the noise is too much and that 70db is the limit for noise at the property line.

Pretty soon we wont even be able to wheel on private property.

But 70db at the property line.

A lawn mower is louder than that. It should be illegal to mow your lawn then also!

If I lived next to that property with all those open header big blocks driving around, I'd be complaining too.

Sounds like Rizzo just needs to make his people use mufflers.

I think the legal DB limit should be up around 92db, like what dirtbikes and quads are allowed on Michigan state land.

I think I'd have to fire up the weed whip at full throttle and set it on the property line for a few hours.

Having worked 12 hour rotating shifts for 8 years, I would have a HUGE issue with open headers running at 1pm next to my house. Not everyone works 9am to 5pm. Nobody is going to ever get fined for mowing their lawn. Running open headers in a township with a noise ordinance will. If it was an established business that was in operation before I moved in, then it would be my own stupidity for moving there. But, if my neighbors decide to open a mud bog next to my house, they better plan to meet with me to negotiate acceptable usage plans and to follow established laws that are in place...

I believe OSHA legal requirements for mandating earplus is 83 db... 92 is loud. 70 is annoyning too. I would be pissed if my neighbor had something that was 70db on my property line for 6+ hours on the weekend too.

some of us would get noisi violations if the wife was on the property line:tonka:

seriously though, if they are organizing an event more thought should have been put into noise levels and ok'd with surrounding neighbors.

my property backs up to I 94. we run quads and dirt bikes and you can barely hear them over the highway. just find a new spot near the highway and you'll be good to go. theres 20 acres due north of me for $105,000, butts right up for a 1/4 mile of fence on I 94.
