If there is a god dont you think the bible is a mockery of him? We're not perfect and thus by having us write it we couldnt even begin to put it down in any sense of the meaning?

That aside, I am not solid on a false hope. I have felt the presence of God. My life isn't meaningless, and this conversation with you proves it. Through interactions I have changed people's lives (Well, God through me [Proverbs 16:9]). In no way is my life meaningless.

As the lotto thing goes, have you ever seen Bruce Almighty? You can't say "yes" every time or everyone would win the lottery and that whole system would fall apart. It's like the bike thing I mentioned before, you can't always hang on.

Guys, I'm off to class, and then I'm meeting up with my girlfriend in Lansing, then I'm heading to Ypsi to get my Jeep. I don't know when I'll be back on.

Do me a favor though, I'd love to keep discussing this, but I would appreciate it if it would stay more appropriate. Thanks!

Ehh you'll live. That sorta proves the point. Religion cant even take a joke.

Is it god saying yes? Or is it his plan anyways?

(I'm sitting in the computer lab about to go to class)

I can't let this slide again though, the Bible is the inspired Word of God. If you truly believe that "We walk but God guides our steps", you understand that he has made us partners in his divine plan. It's just like we discussed with the window, God didn't reach down from heaven and put it in; He works THROUGH us!

We are not perfect, Deke. But God's words are God's words no matter who writes them down.

No mockery.

P.S. Wakebabe says "hi" to everyone.

This is how religon is viewed to ones whom know real questioning. Its fawking comical

I didn't find it particularly offensive, just annoying and stupid, and not the least bit funny or even ammusing.

Heres a big flaw.

Gods relationship would be between me and him. WHats the damn point of the church then? fundamentally flawed. All religion has done since its been around is controll the population on a whole. Thats it.

don't base your judgement of religion and "the church" on the likes of Fred Phelps and the well known televanglist. Most are not like that.

I'm not really sideing with anything, just playing devils advocate. Some see the Bible as a collection of ancient ledgends and folk lore handed down over the centuries, some see it as the inspired word of god.
You believe that scientists use sound, unbiased reasoning and proper scientific methods in thier experiments and interitation of the results. Other people believe that the first hand accounts of Jesus's death and resurection are accurate and unbiased interpritations of the evens they saw and that they have been accuratly recorded and passed down over time.

Either way you're believing in what your told.

A very cynical view of religion.

And I find it ironic and humorus that both you and Tom Cruise and the other scientologists look to dead fiction writers for guidence.

On the otherhand, Going to church provides maximum enjoyment for many, and donating to a church makes alot of people happy. So I say, do whatever you can do to keep happy.
Can't argue with that. What ever you believe you have the free will to believe it. Do what you think it best.
