Default 207 vs 231 t-case

I'm in the middle of my small block XJ build and currently have a 207 case in it, but I have the option of going to the 231. The 207 has a mech speedo and the 231 has electronic. Is there much strength difference between the two, both being S-10 cases? Will the SYE kits for the 231 work in the 207? I know hack and tap is a option here. I know the output shaft is the same, spline count anyway because the yoke works in both.

I would like to keep the mech speedo. If I keep the 207, more than likely I'll swap a new chain in it.

Opinions on the matter? Is the strength difference enough to even worry about?
