Default I NEED HELP!! silverado suspension

Well first of all i have a 93 silverado z71. I bought a pair of add-a-leafs and plan on cracking the torsion bars up a lil bit to level it back out and make it so i can clear my 33's and have a lil extra room. I think i have that stuff figured out, but i have been reading on here and other forums that you wear you ball joints down a lot faster. so i am planning on replacing the stock one while i put the lift on.

Now comes the questions.
Can you replace the lower ball joint without releasing the tension on the torsion baars? What are the best and easyist way to replace the ball joints?

any comments on anything i am doing would be much appreciated good or bad...
