Default 4 point seat belt laws?

Ive got 4 point belts in my jeep and Im wondering if its legal. not that ill change em out but just wondering

some are but most are not since they are not DOT approved.

A few years ago, I got pulled over with my drag car that seen the street once in a while. I only had the lap part of my 5 point on, I got a ticket for that because I wasn't using everything there.

That isn't gospel, just what I've seen.

I heard that they are fine, but you have to use the whole 5 point. Like I said thats just what I heard.

Using only a part of the 4 or 5 pt is the same as only using the lap belt in a car that has automatic belts. That would be considered an improper wear.

So long as it's DOT approved, you can add to the safety of a car, but not take away, so yes. Also any belt system must be worn properly or they'll write you.
