We went over to check it out Sunday. Poor workmanship, crummy cabinets, not enough storage room, underpowered, out dated electronics.

I hated it.

Very nice.

holy good god.

You better put "Not For Hire" on the side of that puppy so you don't get stopped for skipping weigh stations

From what I can get out of SOS, Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (Weighmasters), it's 'Recreational Vehicle' classification that get's you the exemption. 'Not for Hire' doesn't mean squat anymore. The Weighmasters are pulling over the horse trailer people and telling them, If you go to a horse show and compete, and win some money, it's comercial, and therefore subject to DOT numbers, weigh stations, CDL A or B, Air Brake endorsements, etc....
So for now, I'm a RV
Anyone got a 4 place trailer....could be one hell of a party!

I think you need a 30' enclosed stacker trailer with a full work shop in the front.

Not for hire is the LAST thing you want to put on the side. That just indicates that you are commercial, but are not for hire. Register it as an RV and put something on the side that indicates private RV near the door.

Also, at 43' long, it is great it can tow 40k pounds, but that 40k pounds better be 22' long or less to fit within the state's 65' length restriction.

Rumor has it that the gov't is looking at standardizing lenghts across the country & that it will stretch to 70' or 75'.

That is VERY cool! The length and then add a long trailer might not be the most fun, but then again you have every darn thing you would ever need in that RV, so who would need to stop anywhere, just go from point "A" to point "B". haha. What is the range on it with full tanks?

Twin 70's = 140 gallons...should get around 10-11 according to other Freightliner owners, so = 1400 miles give or take a bit. BUT, after the 100,000 mile break-in
Right now I've only put 80 miles on it.
Next challenge is to see if it will fit @ OSTC! Gonna need some flagmen most likely.
