Default Any Trails near harrisville MICH?

WE Will be in the Harrisville area this weekend... for our 20th anniversary... we are staying at a bed and breakfast... My wifes says... maybe we can take the jeep!

Hard to believe she said that... Im thinkin its some sort of trap... LoL!

Anyway we may be traveling up to Alpena as well... so are there any legal trails in the area of Harrisville up to Alpena? I have a hand held GPS if that helps....

thanks!
Rick

Devils lake is the only trail system that I am aware of that is legal in the alpena area. If you head west to the mio area, there are a lot of trails that you can explore.

I am not sure if the trails in oscoda are legal for Vehicles, but I know there are Bike/ATV trails down there. I can tell you 100% certain there is no legal public wheeling in Alcona county.

Devils is ok, I grew up over there and we had a riot out there. Not a lot of challenge for a built jeep though. Quite a bit of two track trails for an afternoon trail ride though, and there are a couple spots you will get in to deep sand or mud depending on how much rain they have had over there.

The DNR office is right near the start of the Oscoda trail head on 41, stop in and talk to Dan Mullins he will know for sure if the trails are legal. I know a lot of people use them, but I am not sure if they are legal or not. Please post back if you find they are, would love to check them out.

If you go on the Old state route, that is legal for SOS and ORV stickered vehicles (note route not trail - trail is only 50" or less).

The trails there are pretty boaring - fairly flat and dusty.
