Default your concept of Jesus?

when you think of Jesus, do you think of a meek dude or a balls out kinda guy?

I found this quote in an article, and it referenced a favorite pastor of mine, and it made me wonder how most people think of Jesus' personality and characteristics. Anyways, here is the snip from an article:

"The aspect of church that men find least appealing is its conception of Jesus. Driscoll put this bluntly in his sermon "Death by Love" at the 2006 Resurgence theology conference (available at TheResurgence.com). According to Driscoll, "real men" avoid the church because it projects a "Richard Simmons, hippie, queer Christ" that "is no one to live for [and] is no one to die for." Driscoll explains, "Jesus was not a long-haired … effeminate-looking dude"; rather, he had "callused hands and big biceps." This is the sort of Christ men are drawn to—what Driscoll calls "Ultimate Fighting Jesus."

and further it says: "Driscoll comes closest to imagining Jesus as the model of maleness when he argues that "latte-sipping Cabriolet drivers" do not represent biblical masculinity, because "real men"—like Jesus, Paul, and John the Baptist— are "dudes: heterosexual, win-a-fight, punch-you-in-the-nose dudes." In other words, because Jesus is not a "limp-wristed, dress-wearing hippie," the men created in his image are not sissified church boys; they are aggressive, assertive, and nonverbal."

Mark Driscoll is a pretty sweet dude if anyone wants to youtube him. So what is your concept of Christ's demanor?

I imagine him to be skinny and tall with birdy legs. I cannot think of many Arab people who have big biceps. He may have had calloused hands from being a carpenter, but most of us have calloused hands from doing everyday work. He was just an average dude in my mind.

"I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34

"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!" Luke 12:49

"Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves." Matthew 21:12

"In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!" John 2:14-16

Sounds like a little sissy skinny guy. Kinda' like Ghandi.

I agree. I'm sure you may have all seen this as well. Biblical Archeology Review (one of the foremost archeology magazines out there) wanted to see what Jesus really looked like in the face. They took a "typical" jewish skull from that period and performed forensic reconstruction with clay muscles. Here is what they came up with. Shocked me becuase I always viewed Jesus as a long haired white dude. But he would have been a short haired arab jew (short hair because they would shave it all off when they would mourn someones death which was often back then).

Kinda blows the mind from what we are all used to seeing... but makes it more believable that our preconceptions may be wrong about Jesus' apperance.

I met Jesus at Home Depot once, he wanted to cut my grass. Nice guy and a hard worker but alittle hard to understand.
