Default Has anyone ever considered

Has anyone ever considered all the people employed directly and indirectly by Tobacco?

Not just the farms and the field workers. Think of the chain of custody of the product from raw to processed form and the sales and distribution of it. Think of the people that provide care for those that have fallen ill, the research and development people that the Tobacco companies have to help fund for finding cures to cancer and other tobacco related illness.

I heard a report yesterday saying the schools were going to be short money this year because tobacco sales are off, thus the tax income is off.

No clue why I thought about this the other day, but the same can be considered for a lot of products across the board.

I think the Tobacco companies are some of the most honest and upstanding companies in the US. Yeah their product causes cancer, but they write that right on the package.

Now. They aren't much to respect but if you look at the chain of custody on products and all the people that profit from it then perhaps some of the negatives get outweighed.

The people that die from tobacco knew that it was dangerous and didn't care, so why should I. I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who is sick from tobacco, that would be like people feeling sorry for a guy that drank bleach.

As I said this is an easy example. Apply it to several things. Plus I DO NOT NEED THE FEDS to tell me what I can and cannot do.

To begin with they didn't. Early smokers had no idea it was unhealthy. Which personally seems silly because when I wake up and cough, I know it is because I inhale something that isn't natural to my body. I do it because I enjoy it and because it is my right to do so. I also choose to eat bacon, butter, mayo and as much red meat as I can possibly grill.

Hell yeah you read blooded american!! BEEF . . . MAYO . . . and Ciggs!!

I tell my wife that I'll probably die when I'm 60 or sooner because my love of 2 of the 3 items mentioned above but I sure will be happy when I die!!

But back on topic. Now people who know and still smoke are idiots IMO but those companies that support so much that you mentioned were built on killing people who didn't know.

Tobacco companies do not kill anyone. By that logic how many people does the auto industry kill. People do it to themselves.

for the record I don't smoke

Drew don't forget drinking fucks up your liver. Bacon clogs your arteries.

How many people would still be around had heroin not been sold by Beyer? How many kids would still be around if they hadn't said to let kids sleep on their belly for so long? Fuck we can keep going forever. Sometimes it is a matter of common sense. Everything that we do has consequences.

Either way we are way off topic. Remove tobacco and put in any gross domestic product you would like. People look at a product and forget everything involved in providing that product to them.
