Default Jeep 1 - Me 0

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I gotta vent. Took today off to replace my cracked exhaust manifold (see sig). Got everything together and started. Stopped after breaking 2 wiring connectors, fuel rail cover and after a complete brain meltdown, all within 3 hours. Had a Haynes manual and the online Chrysler Tech Manual.

How do you remove the incoming fuel line metal fitting w/ the little internal fingers? How do you remove the fuel injector wire connectors? How do you get to the bottom bolt of the PS pump mount?

Only plus thing was of the bolts that I could reach, none of them broke off!

I think I will live with the crack...

As I recall last time I "helped" with one of these we did not disconnect the fuel lines, just lifted and folded the fuel rail up out of the way.
The injector plugs are sliding clip/locks.
They are tricky to figure out the first time.

I cant say I've ever done one, but the fuel lines are going to need a special tool to disconnect....

there's a special tool to remove the fuel line. The bottom bolt wasn't a problem on mine.

The special tool is cheap and comes in a multi-pack (for different size lines). I got the set at Sears. It's like a white and black plastic ring that you slide over the line then push towards the hose to remove it.

When I did mine I didn't disconnect the fuel line. Just moved it up and out of the way.
From what I remember those bolts are a stretch to get to. Extensions and u-joint adapters helped a ton.
When putting it all back together just watch out the you don't have any wires pinched in-between the manifold. Did that on my brother's jeep and had to take it all apart again. It was a bitch the second time same as it was the first time.

Just lift it up and fold it out of the way... that's what I did.. Just make sure to depressurize it.
