Default ford ranger

i was wondering if any of you would know what year ranger has the strongest frame. my buddy and i have a project goin and need a strong frame. we are putting a 460 in a ranger. i know it will need to be boxed and stuff but i would like to start with a strong frame for a ranger

I've always put my 460 rangers on an Early bronco frames....they are cheep and already boxed....watch for rust !!:tonka:

nothing you can cum pick it up it still has a explorer body on it but its yours if you want it. its going to the junk yard hear in the next 2-3 weeks its located in Bellaire MI up by travers city

I wouldn't worry about that 89 frame. I've seen plenty of 80's Rangers with big blocks in them hold up well. I'm stuffing a 351W into a Ranger to drag race, with a 5-speed!! As long as you box it, you're good, and you only have to do that if you're running a lot of torque. A stock or slightly modified 460 won't hurt it. Or. just put a 'cage in it.

im thinkn a ranger with a 460 should scoot. planin on heads, cam, intake, headers, carb, nothin to big unless the block needs to be bored a little then maby 30 or 40 ovr
