Default Grayling Military Grounds

TAKE I-75 ABOUT 18 MILES SOUTH OF GAYLORD TO CR-612. TAKE CR-612 EAST FROM I-75 ABOUT 4 1/2 MILES TO BEAR LAKE ROAD (JUST PAST THE CURVE). THE AREA NORTH AND EAST OF THIS IS THE GRAYLING MILITARY AREA LEGAL FOR WHEELING. USING THE "MICHIGAN ATLAS AND GAZETEER" MAP BOOK (AVAILABLE AT ANY MEIJER'S OR SPORTING GOODS STORE) TRAVEL THE TRAILS SHOWN. STAY OFF THE HILLS AS THE DNR WILL TICKET FOR "CREATING AN EROSIVE CONDITION". ALSO STAY OUT OF THE FENCED BOMBING RANGE:miff: FOR OBVIOUS REASONS IT IS WELL MARKED. RESPECT THE MILITARY VEHICLES IF PRESENT. THE SOLDIERS ARE USUALY HELPFUL IF YOU FLAG THEM DOWN FOR QUESTIONS.

if the range is busy you can go west of the highway and go into town, from there you go west on 612 to the Frederic loop orv trail. its 29 miles of 50" and 9 miles of route, its wide enough you won't scratch your truck.

to the north and east theres the Atlanta system which has more trail & some route.

if you get bored go hunting realestate, there trails galore going back into some of the homes in the area. theres even a few partally finished subs that have miles of trail/road.
