Just west of Cleveland OH!

Don't know what came over me to take a job there, but I'm all in now. May be selling the jeep too. How many parts do you want? It would be a killer deal!

this mentality right here is in part why the real estate economy is so messed up.

people didn't shop for housing based on what the price of the house they were looking at, instead they were "shopping payments" - which led to the proliferation of interest only ARMs, and other shenanigans including flat out mortgage fraud.

the majority of the big booms in real estate were a direct result of economic, and tax policies that made monthly payments lower. e.g. the obvious interest rate, and zero down opportunities, but we also saw a huge boost in selling prices shortly after the passage of Proposal A in 1994 which limited property taxes...

people didn't stop to think: "omgosh I only make $40,000 and am buying a $350,000 house" they saw their mortgage broker state that they could get into it for 3% down, and $x,xxx /mo...

ARM adjusts, or balloons, or the property taxed uncap, and all of a sudden they're eating hamburger helper (dry out of the box) and living in the back seat of their leased car that's about to get repo'ed...

end of rant.

This is true. I would only do a 15 or 30 year fixed. Mortgage is always selling the payment.

That being said, there is another reason for the current market situation.

Wal-Mart! :tonka:

Back on topic.

Make an offer. Now I have two homes to sell and am moving to Chicago!

I hear ya brother. I own several properties and I remember trying to squeeze maximum payment for my budget and the shortest mortgage period. Unfortunatly with the current market I'm taking a pretty big hit on my equity especially on a comercial property I am trying to sell.
