Default Any BMW Buff's on here?

I'm looking at an 88 325i convertible today after work, and just wondering if there's anything in particular I should check out.

Thanks,
Will

ask to see if they have any service records, water pumps go bad every 60k I think and were plastic impellers from factory newer ones are metal, also timing belts. Check to see if panels(hood, doors, fenders, etc) all have original bmw factory stampings. get me a VIN and i may be able to run carfax for you I got a 30 day unlimited deal.

Not sure on the 325i but my M3 a sore spot was the rear upper shock plates, mount was very weak and fatigued over time.

used to have a 320i, it was a very cool looking car but i hated how the starter was paritally under the intake manifold on top of the engine, since i needed to change it.

Don't get drunk, drive across two lawns, hit a tree and two parked cars.

It will ruin your BMW.

Thanks Stan, I'll do my best to avoid two lane roads, trees and parked cars.

i'd give my left nut for an e30 M3.

I think the biggest thing about e30's are rust, and then don't they have some rear sub-frame bushing things that are a PITA to replace?

Shit..... it's red. It is a little girly right now, but it will be tough some day.

And it beats the hell out of driving the 1 ton crew cab that I've been driving everyday.

It came from California, and is pretty damn clean. Engine was supposedly replaced 50k ago. I'm not sure about that. It sounds like it needs a valve adjustment. Otherwise, some seat covers and a couple of interior pieces and it's good to go.
