my brother, GF, and I use to have a focus. The best any of us got was 31mpg 100% highway going to Nashville. We typically averaged around 26mpg. I wasnt a fan of my focus(hence having about 3 months)...its hard for me to understand how a much smaller engine, and car can get 5mpg less then the accord I have now

Nope those things dont work anyway, older o2 sensors output voltage might not be as high as it was before, giving the false impression that the air/fuel mixture is leaner than it actually is. The result can be a richer-than-normal air-fuel mixture in different operating conditions, resulting in much higher fuel consumption and emissions. Basically it tells the computer its running the "best"that in can resulting in better mpg.I also have them on my tahoe after running headers true duals and no cats so the ses light does'nt stay on.

P.S

Jegs and Summit both sell them

post cat O2 sensor does nothing for fuel trim. You may be talking about pre cat sensor which IIRC will set a code if it doesnt switch fast enough. sooooo....

My mom had an aztec bronze '66 Chevelle with the 283 and the powerglide. She still has the original window sticker. With factory dual exhaust she paid about $2300 brand new. My grandfather worked at the Chevy dealership back then. Damn I wish she still had that one.

06 VW Jetta Diesel... 36-38 in town / 46-48 on the highway @ 68-70 mph, kick it up to 80 mph and get 44-45 mpg.
I love this car, I have put 43,000 miles on it in a year, it has paid for it's self even with the difference in the price of fuel.

Thats a nice car....I kick myself for not buying one in 06. Back then there wasnt enough fuel mileage data to show what they were going to get and the window sticker showed only 35mpg.....seems like everyone gets around 40+ with the 06 jetta tdis.

It is a sweet car, handles well, and only needs service every 10,000 miles!

pre-cat O2 will adjust your computer for fuel trim. Post-cat O2 monitors the exhaust to make sure your cat is working properly, if the post-cat O2 is registering the same as the pre-cat O2 then a DTC will be tripped

Your post cat O2 sensor's output is also biased in software to give you an additional way to reduce NOx emissions.
