Default np435 tranny question

I have a 1965 mercury 1 ton ...300 i6 ... my question is the truck is currently a 2 wd and im in the process of switching to 4wd i really like the current tranny as it has the granny low and all and i was wondering if i could adapt a transfer case to it what would i need to do this ? i would really like to keep this tranny thanks.........

Options:

1) divorced t-case, like some versions of the np205

2) buy a np435 from a 4wd Ford and use stock adapters and t-cases

3) buy an aftermarket adapter and to hook up to something like a Dana 300

Here is some background info on #2 and #3. They want to sell you #3, but give some good background on what it was used in originally, and that may help lead you to what all they used it to choose #2.

Thanks alot man iv never seen that site before it really does have alot of good info tho hey what would you suggest for a case i was going to go with a 205 but im fairly new to all this its a real heavy truck gunna be turning 40's on dana 60 steer and a sterling 10.25 rear just wondering cause i wanta get this thing up and running
