Default Ramcharger Make over

Since the Ramcharger has not sold yet I decided to start working on it and cleaning her up so I can drive it around this summer.

I started to take the front 60 apart last night on the old Charger. front bearing was completely wasted the worst I have ever seen after the bearing went the nut welded itself to the spindel it was so damn tight that I spun the inside of a 3/4 2 1/2 socket.....yah the square section were the socket wrench attaches it is about 1/2 thick and it turned the square into a circle.. Than I got an new socket put the impact on....it laughed at the impact. (3/4 impact mind you)....Then I got the idea to run the impact and put a pipe wrench on the socket and hit it at the same time from all angles... did I mention I did this with the torches in the party aswell the nut was so hot It almost melted off.....after about 20min of this it finally broke loose....I could smell victory as the impact labored to back off the nut then about a min. later I said to myself this thing should be just about off, so I pull the impact back to realize that the nut had not moved at all IT WAS STRIPED and stuck on the spindle ....I figured f--k it now the spindle is wasted too so I proceded to torch the nut off.

Happy Times...

The funny thing is those bearings would be lucky to have 150 miles on them. Gotta love the mud

I definetly dig your bronco but if we traded it would do the same thing my charger does and sit in my drive way. ever since I got the buggy built I have no use for it. O'well I will have some intense ice cream runs with the charger this summer

Its still for sale I just figured I better fix the bearings and at least drive it around town if it is sitting in the driveway. Plus I have to get dirt delivered soon for my landscaping and the Dodge is in the way
