Anyone get anything weird on their annual credit report?

Nothing fishy here, just a lot of creditors looking at it to send me their damn credit card offers.

Apparently shopping for insurance quotes makes them check your credit history as well, which means I learned something new today and probably lowered my score with so many hits on my report.

Anyone have anything super fishy come up?

when the credit card companies look at it for offers it does not affect your score. it is called a soft inquiry. if you apply for the card it ius a hit on your report.

for all the info you need you can check www.myfico.com

people with shabby credit are more likely to burn their car when they can't afford the monthly payment.

It's a stereotype of the people that generally have poor scores. Not to mention they don't want to give you a policy if you have a history of not paying things.

I'll have to check it out.

My score dropped a little bit from last year. If those inquiries don't matter, the only thing I can think that dropped it was opening two new accounts, one being for an engagement ring and the other for my new car. Since they're only two months old, Experian says that will temporarily lower your score.

No wonder they make bachelor's degrees for this shit because there is so much information...

It isn't a stereotype. It's statistical analysis. The numbers prove that people with higher credit scores are typically more responsible, take fewer risks, make fewer claims, and pay their bills on time. Those are the type of customers you want as an insurance company. They give those types of people better rates.
