WARNING LOTS OF PICS
This Project was started spring of 2008.

I picked up a 1998 Cherokee from a guy near lansing for 800.00

The first thing I did was replace the rear cargo door. Now it was time for a fender trim.

careful of the window wash fluid

next was the lift. I am using a Rough Country 4.5 with the Add a Leafs

The front is done

My new Best Friend PB Blaster

now for some tires
33 12.5x15 Boggers

some bedliner paint along the rockers

I think she looks pretty good.

I got some more work done today.
The 9" is assembled

ready to be installed

Then I got the D44 into the garage

And started pulling it apart

Next I have to make these

Look like these(8 lug to 5 lug conversion)

I also picked up some seats out of a 2006 grand cherokee

The fronts should go in pretty easy, Im going to try to make the rear fit too.

I got a little work done to day.

Swapped out the spindals and brakes to a 5 lug set up.

then I ripped it all back apart.(I only installed the 5 lug stuff so I knew it would fit)

Then I started to pull the knuckles

But I gave up on the drivers side.(I will finish it sunday)

I think I might replace the u-joint sunday too

You might want to re-think that, the 1/2 ton calipers won't clear the 3/4-ton knuckles, and those dual-piston 3/4 ton calipers won't fit in a 15" wheel if the backspacing is more than 2 1/2" ish. You're going to need F-150 knuckles to use the F-150 hubs, rotors, and calipers. If you were planning on running Hysteer, you'll need Chevy/Jeep flat-top knuckles and small bearing spindles to run that stuff

Well I would like to start off with SHIT! FUCK! DAMB IT!
My brakes dont fit.

The good news is that it looks like there is room to make them fit.(just a little grinding)

I got the brackets cut off the D44 today.

Then I got things cleaned up.

I took the u-joints out today too

I will never get used to the bang they make when they come out. they shot out at my wall like a gun.

Im going to put these in Wed.

After the pain is dry.

why man why? You should of got the spicers even with stock shafts, when those joints fail you risk the chance of taking out the shaft ears. You want those non greasable spicers joints. Like $30 a pop but worth it.

I agree with mini beast on the spicers. I just did mine last night there alot bigger and stronger than the garbage gmp one i was going to put in there.
I got mine at bronco graveyard in brighton they were 25 bucks a peice

what are you doing for suspencion on the d44 coils, truss, and long arm?

So I went out to the garage to day.
Poped the ball joints out.

Then cleaned and painted the knuckles.

I had a hell of a time getting the bearing out from inside the spindals

I picked up new bearings and seals for the inner spindal

I also cleaned and painted the rotors

Then repacked the bearings

I even picked up the garage when I was done

I got my new ball joints in the mail from ROCKAUTO

They were all from different makers(I thought I had recieved the wrong parts at first.

Stopped out to GREASYHANDS shop and borrowed this

Then In go the new parts.

I had to install one more new seal

Then put everything back together (bought some new nuts too)
