i am sure colin is talking about the rear. bore it and put some 35 splines in it colin. i have some disc mounts for the rear if you want to copy them and make your own. get ahold of me this weekend.
The shaft is the same size with comparable strength.
The design of the full float puts less strain on the shaft. So you get to use all of it's available strength to turn the tires, not hold the vehicle up AND turn the tires.
ding ding ding.. we have a winner. run the 30 spline til you break it. which if you do most of your wheeling in michigan you probably wont. if it does you can either start carrying spares or spend the time and money to do the work of changing it over to 35 spline.
Im going to run them for now. IM taking a 70 out and putting in a 60. I know it is dumb but i have to give the 70 back to my buddy. I hope to buy it later on but for now the 60 will have to do.
I have not busted one yet but I only run mud, I think they are good until you run crazy low gears. Then they shear off pretty easy. But with 38s it should be fine.
