I used the advance adapters mounts that weld in and had really good luck with those. I used a 6 cylinder rad. with dual electric fans, which also works out really nice since it bolts right in place.
If you're running a Chevy motor and you're not going to use a Quadratrac transfer case, there is no reason for you to use an AMC TH400 at all. Use a Chevy TH400. No adapter at the engine, and it'll already have a factory NP-pattern on the output if it wasn't robbed.
If you already have a fresh or built AMC TH400, get a dead Chevy and swap the housing and tail. You'll still save money.
This sounds like a lot of trouble to install a 305. I believe CC has been down this path before.
It really depends on whether I can have the adapters made or not. I'm not going to spend 300 dollars on a piece of aluminum with holes drilled in it.
