On a side note, I was always going to convert mine from the steel rod to a newer cable style. You might find it easier to get ahold of the cable style instead of the tube. And it should be a direct fit, with issues. I never actually did this to mine because the trans finally went after 28 years and went full manual during the rebuild. I can check the LKQ in holland if you like, I live near there and work in GR.
i have tha cable at work.. but u have to use it with the throttle cable and bracket..... and the guy im doin this for isnt gonna pay... if u know what im sayin.... and yeah i have to go to lkq one of these days when i have time... the one on division by 100th street is only a few miles from my owrk. thanks for the offer.
