i went snowboarding for my first time at mt holly on saturday for 8 hours. i got 10 seconds on the bunny hill to stand on the board and then my more experienced cousin/friends made me hit the big hills. i'm not a natural pro, so i was eating snow all night (a lot of my crashes were self inflicted, it feels like you get going way too fast sometimes) and i'm pretty sure i used every single muscle in my body. i have never been this sore in my life. i can't even wipe my ass without feeling pain :sonicjay: i definitely had a ridiculous amount of fun though, going back in a few weeks for more :woot:
Broken femur (in three pieces, double fracture) playing soccer my freshman year in H.S.- Still hurts from time to time when I put weight on my leg.
Cut the tip of my finger off chopping onions at an old job. Someone dropped a bunch of heavy metal pans in the kitchen, and the noise made me jump a little bit and miss the onion by a little bit.
I suppose this is not anything near what others have gone through, but it hurt nonetheless. I had a PICC line put in last year (again), and the IV team at WBH Troy thought they could get it in no problem. The dug around in my arm for probably 30 minutes trying to cut up the right vein. Finally they sent me to angio, got local anesthetic, and they didn't wait long enough or didn't give me enough, because I felt them cut through and put the catheter in. That sucked. It didn't come out until a month later.
Woke up in the room after the surgery and my dad just had to crack a joke. Laughing was never more painful. Ugly scar is still about 6 inches long on my abdomen 30+ years later.
All the other pains in my life have paled in comparison, although there has been plenty of pain.
Kidney stones way to big to pass that got lodged in my kidney. Still dont know which part was worse, the stone pain or the post-surgery pain
Cutting my hand with a sharp utility knife between my thumb and forefinger, 3 hours of hand surgery and finding out that lidocain only lasts for about 20 minutes at a time for me and having to keep getting injections in the deep tissue.
Falling off the high dive ladder at 13 bruising my hip bone and breaking 2 vertabrae which still aren't aligned and cause me pain most every day.
Probably when I broke my right arm, both fore-arm bones, nearly a compound break. It hurt when it happened (BMX bike jump went wrong), and it hurt UBER bad when it was reset! I'll never forget that instance.
a car accident that caused 4 broken ribs, punctured lung, a concusion, slight burns on my thighs from the air bag and glass imbeded in my hand from it hitting the windshield that didnt work itself out untill a year later. then while in the hospital having a dumbass nurse miss my vein 5 times before i yelled at her and she went and got another nurse. worst 5 day stay in a hospital ever.
Hernis surgery. I let mine strangulate before getting it taken of. Cuts off circulatiuon to the intestine and can turn ganegreen. Worse belly ache that you will ever have. Took part of the intestine out and I spent 10 days in the hospital. I would recommand getting those things taken care of before they get that bad. Mine was from a herniated belly button. The groin one was a piece of cake in comparsion.
The day I broke a bunch of ribs and my collarbone in a motorcycle accident and the asshole that I lived with came in the house and started cracking jokes. Thanks ClarkstonCracker.
I flipped a golf cart over on me and my buddy snapping his ankle and the top landed on me dislocating my shoulder. Worst part was when the cart got flip back over causing my shoulder to get caught on the bottom of my shoulder blade. Worst part of all is we're now banned for life from that course.
#1 Kidney stone was by far the worst, took three days to pass. Could barely move for two of them.
#2 had the vein in my right arm blown out while giving plasma. My arm from mid forearm to just below my shoulder was black from the amount of blood under my skin. They give you anti coagulants when donating so it made it worse than it should have been. My arm hurt for three weeks, the nurses at the donation center had never seen it that bad they took pics of it for teaching purposes. A couple weeks ago, I actually heard them telling a new tech about blowing someones vein and how they had a picture of what could happen in extreme cases. I told them yeah that was me!! LOL She was surprised I was still donating. I told her money makes it easier!! My daughter was just a baby at the time. Try taking care of a 5 month old with only one arm, I could barely pick up a diaper with that arm. let alone her.
I would have to say giving birth, twice, naturally.. First son gave me almost 80 stitches and only weighed 6lbs 13ounces, second son weighed 8 lbs 10 ounces.
From the second they said I was all done the pain was unreal. {fuck you guys who went to work the next day!} 3 days later my balls were the size of a purple bowlingball. Doc said he screwed up one side and caused it to get infected.
Worst 3 weeks of my life! Couldnt walk, sit, breath, shit, laugh, had to piss in the shower cuz I my balls were so big & sore I couldnt even try to aim my dick and I couldnt wear any pants. Missed 3 weeks of work.
I hit a tree on a mini bike doing about 35 and broke my radius and ulna in two places, broke a rib, burned my leg on the exhaust, and had a concussion... I now have two plates and 11 screws in my right arm :woot:
Never broke anything, I hope never to break anything either.
However I remember pulling my abs the first time, felt like I was gonna puke for 2 weeks. I ended up doing it again later on with the same result.
I'm fortunate I guess. I don't remember any of my major injuries. The worst pain I've had in the past few years is when I sprained my Peck muscle. Couldn't lift anything with that side for about two weeks. Thought I broke my Sternum at first.
When I was little I had a came out with a Broken Colar bone (Which my parents didn't know about intill week 2). I guess that probably hurt for a while. My brother pushed me off the table a 1 and a Half and I broke my leg....Could've hurt, Don't remember. Although, I have seen videos of me with the cast, I look like a Peg leg pirate. Had a Hernia surgery at like 6. I cracked my pelvis bone in 5th grade. Didn't really hurt that much. Three years ago I ripped off a Half dead Big Toe nail.....Didn't hurt but almost made me throw up......All in All, Nothing too Special.
Hmmm.
The 3 dry sockets after having 4 impacted wisdom teeth pulled or the absessed tooth that I had to endure during my cousin's funeral until I could get the root canal or childbirth.
No, the teeth.
I wanted to cut my head off!
Kidney stone, the first time. I blacked out on that one. Never made it to the E.R. Passed it on my own.
Kidney stones the second time. Puked several times before I made it to the E.R., almost blacked out. It sucks driving yourself to the E.R. They ushered me into surgery the very next morning to remove the large 10mm boulder in righty's ureter. Pissing blood from the procedure burns like hell. Vicodin does nothing for me. Now Percoset...Oh yeah!
Kidney stones from the lithotripsy that they tried after kidney stones #2. They really should have turned the machine up because I was pissing out big ass chunks of gravel the day after I passed the biggest boulder. Puked and made it to the E.R. tho. Drugs sweet drugs.
Kidney stone, the third time, possibly a leftover from the lithotripsy a year ago. Made it to the E.R. early enough...knew what was coming. I puked from the pain just as they were drugging me and then it was like heaven. Then it took a week to pass that 6mm rock.
chainsaw to the fore arm. one nerve one artery 6 tendons lots of morphine. The resident decide to do a little lookie loo and kept hitting the end of my nerve.....................................................................................................................................that really sucked and the second time i let him know very clearly.
