I cant tell you whole bunch about the trails, cause I just dont know. I have never been up there to wheel. The guy, (Denny) that is going to show us about is the owner of the lodge where we are staying at, ( see my above post) and has a stock Land Rover. He is a resident of Ohio. Most of trails we will be doing, ( according to Denny) will be old ,old logging trails that have'nt seen much use in years. There is allot of rocks, swampy areas and hills, and everything in between. Denny has'nt really been on the trails either but knows where they are. And he knows that because the lodge that he owns caters pretty much to rock climbers, so, he does allot of scouting to find new rock climbing areas.
The lodge, (The mad moose lodge) is about an hour os so north of the Soo in Canada. Very wide open almost mountains area with not a lot of population. In fact, the nearest town, is the Soo to the south and Wawa to the north which is about the same distance either way. There is a small gas station however located about a mile north of the lodge, so gas should'nt be a problem. So this is pretty much what I can tell you about it, except, it will definantly be an adventure and a lot of fun. Oh yah, it's located at the Montreal river harbor.

:sonicjay: That there is some funny stuff, I dont care who ya are. The only thing I think I would worry about is the rush'n fingers and roamin' hands:tonka: Wake up in the morn and find out its not your own hand down there.:naughty: :junk: :sonicjay: :sonicjay: :sonicjay:
Well i plan on going as long as i get my yota up and running. How much time does denny need before reserving a room. Or is there a place to pitch a tent?

There is a place to pitch a tent. But, let me just say, it is not very warm up there in the end of may. I posted the web site to the lodge on one of the above posts. E-mail Dale for reservations and he should be able to tell you. Dale is the one that runs the lodge. Just tell him that you are with my (TOM) group that will be up in May 4 wheeling. Go here http://www.themadmoose.com/
That last pict. looks just like the river that runs next to the cabins when they open the dam.
And as I said to who ever said they might camp, (prerunner) it might be pretty freakin' chilly that time of year.
Hell, its even cold to my but up there in mid August. lol:sonicjay:
But, we will have way to much fun.
Ahhaha! Ken - get a real internet connection and the size of those photos will seem just right :stan: :stan: :tonka: :woot:
Tom - both those photos were taken on the same trip - the first one was day 2, the second was a few days later. They were taken on the Pukaskwa River a little bit north of where we will be staying. The end of May is usually when the snow melt has brought the level of the rivers up to peak and is the best time to run them (especially if you are looking for whitewater). That particular trip was 9 days from start to finish and the weather ran the full gamut from snowing to 70 degrees. If it gets 'too' warm for too many days, the blackflies will emerge... I'll take cold over blackflies any day! lol
Yes sir, I hope it is a little chili up there. Man, cant handle them black flys. Although I have a small bottle of 100% deet, they do not like that. Got that up to the porcipines last summer. Either way, we wont get cold at night, (oooooo ahhhhh warm cabins) or during the day. That is unless some one has a heaterless jeep. :sonicjay: I think it will be good though.

your just mad because i wont sleep in your bed with you.
well too bad:sonicjay: :sonicjay: :sonicjay: :sonicjay: :sonicjay:
