Automakers' cutbacks have NASCAR buzzing
Kansas City Star 01/25/06
by Jim Pedley

"Ford driver Dale Jarrett on Tuesday placed partial blame for the current downs on the American media. He said if an up was going occur at GM and Ford, the media must pitch in and help.

The public relies a lot on what is printed, Jarrett said. What they see. What they hear. What they read. Unfortunately, over the last few years more of that has been said that these car manufacturers from overseas make a better product, and I don't believe that's the case right now."

He is right. Perception becomes reality. Mainstream media has become increasingly a for-profit venture. They report only what will get them the highest ratings, so that they can attract more and higher paying advertisers. How scary that something so true and insightful comes from NASCAR. LOL
