is there anywhere cheaper than Alro to buy steel. went yesterday to price some flat stock and wandered over to the 6' DOM sticks and thought twice about building my own longarms. luckily i found plate for what i need in the drops at like .90/lb, wasnt to bad 4 6' lengths of 4" wide 1/8" plate for 40+tax
I just made an order from Alro that I am picking up on Monday. They have decent prices when you purchase a larger order which I did. Like Bones said though DOM isn't cheap anywhere.
there used to be a surplus steel place down the road from alro. i think they moved to the same little road you take to get to omni source around the block. i can check for you on the way home to see if it is still there.
didnt know regals sold steel. the new one that was thortons is mostly imports is what they told me yesterday when i called about a driveshaft for a k1500
The old Reagels on the north side of the tracks sells all kinds of new steel. Cut to what ever length you want all deferent thickness square, round and flat.
The new regals on m59. The old hays limmerz building sells all the alum.
Surplus steel supply is the place by Omnisource in Jackson. They had decent prices last time I was in there.
