I had that on my Jeep YJ with no body lift I had NICE 31' swampers on it and never rubbed. I didn't want to add a body lift. It rides rough but it gives you enough for 31"-32" I would be a little scared to go bigger without a body lift.
I have them on my YJ with Racho shocks. The kit is old and saggy and still clears 32" ssr's. I took off the swaybar and trackbars and it flexes good enough to mangle my fenders. I have TJ flares, no body lift and stock shackles.. It road better with the Rancho 9000's but I'm running 5000's now.
In general the are pretty soft and ride pretty nice if you use a good shock. They flex better then my old 2" BDS springs.
