Here's my recap, but I don't know much about this stuff. I'd listen to the fireman and the recruiter.
1) All domestic half-tons will move to light duty diesels in the 2010 time frame.
2) Many other cars and SUVs will also be launching diesels in this timeframe, or shortly thereafter.
3) despite posts in this thread, they will NOT be on par with the POWER outputs of comparable gas engines. They will have more torque, which will make up for it in most driving situations.
4) despite posts in this thread, we won't suddenly see F150s pulling down 40 mpg hwy mileage. It will be perfectly believeable for mid-size cars to be in the mid 40s.
Bottom line, more choices for all of us. And more things for Scottie to complain about.
