OK, He's the deal on the trail and trees. Right now, no NEW trails. We can however make the current trails passable by clearing the brush and dead fall out of the way. Also NO chainsaws, not even with cert's. Two things with the county you have to remember, 1, they don't want the liability if someone gets hurt with one, and 2, they have county workers who's job it's 'suppose' to be to maintain the park. Don't beat me up on #2. The Mounds Advisory Board will be meeting sometime before spring. I will bring up the trail cleaning again and see it there is any wiggle room for certified operators. I did get it cleared for a chipper to be dragged along the trail so we don't have to try and pitch the trees off to the side. This would allow us to simply leave the chips right in the trail. That would also help with erosion a bit.
