I would think that it would be less restrictive therefore better flow, lower EGT's more power and better economy.
(these are the reasons for wanting to go 4" anyhow)

Thats what its all about reducing backpressure to get rid of spent exhaust gas. From everything I have read on thedieselgarage, cumminsforum, comp diesel everyone seems to say that straight piping is all you need to do.
