Yep, thats the issue I've seen as well. Those tires are like iron, and will ride accordingly.
I've seen reports of 100k+ miles out of them.
One other issue I would think, would be that the hard rubber compound probably sucks in the snow. They are designed to have much more weight on them, to get the traction.
I still like good-old 235/85R16s in a load range E...
