you can check the transfer case by pulling the front d shaft then putting it in 4 whell drive listen for bad noises, also grab the front out put and try and turn it to see if it went into 4 wheel drive, if the problem is blown up spiders in the front diff parts are easy to come by, i would just find a front third member with matching gears and swap the whole unit.
