Didn't realize you had auto hubs....the problem with those usually ain't that they blow out (they will do that too), it is just that the grease gets too sticky from being old.....we had a F-150 that did the same thing. A trail fix is to pop the cap off and soak it down in WD-40, but really it just needs to be cleaned and fresh grease slathered on everything. But in the long run you are farther ahead putting manual lockout on it.
