The design of the full float puts less strain on the shaft. So you get to use all of it's available strength to turn the tires, not hold the vehicle up AND turn the tires.
ding ding ding.. we have a winner. run the 30 spline til you break it. which if you do most of your wheeling in michigan you probably wont. if it does you can either start carrying spares or spend the time and money to do the work of changing it over to 35 spline.
