Sounds like a misfire. Check all 6 plugs, and wires. Pay attention to when it does the herky-jerky. Cold starts? Engine bay not warmed yet? Extremely cold out? Raining? Foggy/humid? Spray water on the plug wires, see if it does it.
on top of checking the plugs and fuel filter look at the vacuum lines to the items around the engine, you could have one ripped or sucked shut and it going to have grave effects on things like egr valve or the map & baro sensors(they regulate fuel delievery)
