get some flat top pistons (brand name badger). They are hard to find as i don think they are produced anymore. Mill the heads .010 or so, get a different cam and you should be good to go.
Better yet, put a set of the elusive Australian closed chamber 2V ( 2 barrel for you non ford guys) heads on it with the stock pistons, and a torque cam.

I always wanted to see this done - those open chamber heads leave a lot to be desired quench wise.
