Not the right key?

Nothing else can cause that.

Try this though....put the key in, tap the end of the key, like you are trying to drive it in further, with a plastic hammer or the end of a screw driver.

Give it some good smacks but don't beat the piss out of it.

There is a TSB for this. Once you get it to turn, put some lube in it.
