Sorry, gang, but you'll have to wait at least 3 years. Those specialty plates are not at the discretion of the Secretary of State. They are created through legislative action and require the governor's signature. Gov. Granholm has vetoed several attempts to create more specialty plates, has vetoed attempts to extend existing specialty plates whose laws are sunsetting, and has vowed to veto any additional attempts to add to the list of available specialty plates.

Her argument is that having too many plates makes it difficult for law enforcement to do their job because witnesses will get confused... :miff:
