because they dont know what they are doing. 400's are great motors. And whose everyone? Maybe YOU are trying to junk it but that doesnt mean a motor is worthless because you dont like it. It's a common swap because there are alot more 460's around than 400's. I've yet to talk to anyone that has even a mildly built 400 and doesnt like it.

If you happen to find a 460 that came in a 78-79 f150, you would have the correct manifolds to use, if not its a crap shoot.

I have done the swap also, had bronco's with a 460 and 400.
