Bush says aid to carmakers now unlikely

"U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., while not calling for a bailout, said the president needs to address problems facing U.S. automakers including rising health care and pension costs and trade practices by overseas competitors. He also criticized Bush's product that's relevant comment.
I am sure American autoworkers feel their jobs, families and communities are 'relevant.' I am sure that every worker, whether white or blue collar, are insulted that you term the products of their livelihood irrelevant.
I encourage you, Mr. President, to go down the street from the White House to view the Washington Auto Show. There you will see American-made Ford, General Motors and Chrysler automobiles that are not only 'relevant' but exciting. "
