What to Expect on the Day of the Wheelin for a Cure Event
Registration will be from 8am to 9am. Breakfast will be offered for you by the Moose starting at 8am. The cost will be 2.50 to 6.50, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, potatoes, juice, etc. There will be a snack and baked goods table for you to purchase snacks and water for your trail ride. You may start your trail ride whenever you are ready. We hope to have everyone out on the route by 9:15. You may go out by yourself, in a group or sign up for a trail leader. You will be given a map and there will be trail makers at every turn. Please see the example of the trail markers at the Welcome station so you will know what to look for. Each 4x4 will have a ribbon tied to the antenna. The route will take you approximately 5 to 6 hours depending on how often you stop. Take your time, this is not a race. The route will be thru the Allegan State Forest area on seasonal roads. Lunch will start being served at 1:30 and will continue until everyone is served. Hamburgers and Chili Dogs, Salads, Chips, Desserts and Water. Yum!
You will be given an “I Spy Sheet” with clues to a few special spots on the route. Find these spots and turn in your sheet at the end and you will receive another raffle ticket. When you get back to the Moose there will be games (with prizes) for everyone to play. 1:00 to 2:30. If you answer the Bonus Question at the New Richmond County Park you will receive another Door Prize Ticket right there at the park. The door prize drawings will start at 3:00pm sharp. You must be present to win.
Other activities to expect will include a 50/50 drawing, a quilt raffle, and a raffle for a GO Pro Camera. Wheelin’ for a Cure 2014 and 2013 stickers will be for sale. You may purchase additional raffle tickets and there will be a very limited amount of T-shirts for sale at the event.
