Show me an actual case where installing a trigger kit, or some other modification to a gun became an issue in court. Also, you're modifying it regardless. A lawyer could use the fact you modified the gun in any way, shape or form against you. You made the safety larger so it's easier to disable.....
I would just keep the thing in the fire position all the time. I'm still not seeing the logic in why you would want to make it bigger and a possible snag point.
