I am sorry, I didn't read the whole thing. I would go to a running store and they usually have people there who can help you fit your needs for arch, size, and balance. I am sure there are other things too. I got orthodics from my podiatrist that I use when I run or do any long walks.
I forgot to add that I like Under Armour because they have great stability shoes for people like me with shortened achilles tendons. :P The custom orthodic really means I can pretty much wear any shoe though. It was like 300 for the orthodics but I am sure they have paid for themselves over and over again by not having to buy more customized shoes and also not having to buy crappy inserts.
