This kind of statement is what lead me to purchase the 2 RIA's . I researched for months before buying and the above statement was in line with many statements from guys who owned the high dollar 1911's but also bought a RIA . Bottom line is I think they all make nice 1911's , for me I just couldn't justify spending over $1000 for a pistol that I read doesn't perform any better and most times not as reliably as for a pistol that cost me $349.00 with tactical sights , extended grip safety, ambidextrous controls, skeletonized trigger and hammer. I will say I like Kimbers mags better . I bought some because they were on sale through Midway , so I bought as many as allowed. I found out I like them so I bought more for myself and my son.
